Israelis Abroad Education Director Job Opening

The Israelis Abroad Pillar will establish educational standards and create a platform on which a variety of program operators may join or expand their operation in this field.

The Education Director will be responsible for the pillar’s broad Jewish identity and Jewish education outcomes and will create high quality educational content for the field, train educators worldwide, and ensure educational standards are met.


·         Ensuring that the pillar’s broad Jewish identity and Jewish education outcomes are realized

·         Leading the Jewish and Israel educational components of the initiative

·         Working closely with the Pillar Director to ensure the educational targets and values are embedded in all aspects of the pillar

·         Working closely with key partners and operators in creation and implementation of educational curriculum

·         Creating and curating educational content to be used by program operators around the world

·         Working with operators’ Jewish and Israel educators to ensure the educational content is used optimally

·         Training educators to work with the target audience

·         Organizing field building activities

·         Organizing convenings / trainings for educators and key partners in the field

·         Performing quality control of operators’ educational programs, and ensuring that the pillar’s educational standards are being upheld by all participating operators

·         Proactively advancing broader interests of Mosaic United


Required Experience and Characteristics

·         BA degree minimum

·         3 or more years of post-high school Jewish studies and / or academic degree in Jewish Education / Jewish Studies, and/or rabbinical ordination

·         Experience of 5 years or more in informal or formal Jewish education

·         Experience managing a large-scale project in the field of education

·         Demonstrated success in curriculum / content development and implementation

·         Demonstrated success in educational training

·         Preference for experience educating both youth/teens and adults

·         Knowledge of and familiarity with the Jewish world

·         Knowledge of and familiarity with Israeli communities outside of Israel

·         Passionate about Mosaic United's vision and mission

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish, develop, and maintain key relationships with multiple stakeholders

·         Ability to manage and contain pressures from various stakeholders

·         Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environments

·         Strategic thinker

·         Possession of a strong passion and orientation towards Judaism, Israel, identity, and education

·         Ability to travel overseas; willingness to work unconventional hours

·         Mother-tongue Hebrew and excellent English
