Israelis Abroad Pillar Director Job Opening

Mosaic United is the leading platform for empowering young Jews across the globe to strengthen their Jewish identities and bonds with Israel, through a strategic funding partnership with the Israeli government, best-in-class expertise in amplifying the impact and effectiveness of educational programs, and a continuum approach which inspires young Jews from experience to experience.

The Israelis Abroad Pillar will establish educational standards and create a platform on which a variety of program operators may join or expand their operation in this field.

The Pillar director will develop, implement, and lead the Israelis Abroad pillar. The director will have oversight of all ongoing operations and management of the Pillar including field building, administration, fundraising, and PR activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

1.       Manage and lead the initiative, from its establishment to its operation and growth, including:

·         Execute the business plan and ensure all its targets are met

·         Assemble and manage a professional staff, manage HR, and operational systems

2.       Fundraise for the project

3.       Cultivate relationships and reach agreements with

·         funders, government of Israel, strategic partners, and other stakeholders

·         program operators across the Jewish world

 

Additional Responsibilities:

·         Promote cooperation among providers and coordinate field building activity

·         Performance of due diligence of providers in the field and establishing contracts accordingly

·         Oversee financial relationships and obligations between relevant parties

·         Ensure that reports and milestones are achieved as planned

·         Lead all legal and operational procedures and ensure that procedures and timelines meet the technical and legal requirements of key stakeholders

·         Management of large-scale funds (millions) and allocations to program operators

·         Oversee third-party audits and/or evaluation systems

·         Plan and oversee PR, marketing, and branding processes

·         Report duties to Mosaic United, the Board, Steering Committee, the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, and other key stakeholders

·         Proactively advance broader interests of Mosaic United 

 

Required Experience and Characteristics

·         BA degree minimum

·         Experience managing an organization or large-scale project in the field of education / community building / social change or related

·         Demonstrated fundraising experience

·         Financial acumen with a strong ability to manage and administer budgets and produce reports

·         PR / marketing / branding sensibility; experience rolling out broad campaigns a plus

·         Strong implementation skills

·         Excellent ability to cultivate relationships and partnerships, including cultivating networks between Israeli and non-Israeli communities

·         Ability to prioritize between multiple tasks

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish, develop, and maintain key relationships with multiple stakeholders

·         Ability to manage and contain pressures from various stakeholders

·         Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environments

·         Strong Jewish and Zionist background with knowledge about and familiarity with the Jewish world

·         Familiarity with Israeli communities outside of Israel

·         Passionate about Mosaic United's vision and mission

·         Strategic thinker

·         Possession of a strong passion and orientation towards Judaism, Israel, identity, and education

·         Prior experience working with the Israeli government a plus

·         Ability to travel overseas; willingness to work unconventional hours

·         Mother-tongue Hebrew and excellent English
