Lior Shakargy is a dedicated educator and community builder with a passion for Diaspora communities to strengthening Jewish identity and connections to Israel. Originally from Petach Tikva, Israel, Lior’s journey has been shaped by diverse experiences in leadership, media production, and cultural engagement.
His service in the Israel Defense Forces as a Search and Rescue combat soldier in the Home Front Command instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility and resilience. Following his military service, Lior’s first exposure to the Jewish diaspora came in 2013 when he served as a camp counselor in California—an experience that profoundly influenced his commitment to Jewish communal work.
Lior earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Tel Aviv University, where he directed and produced films, merging his creative talents with storytelling. In 2021, he joined the Jewish Agency as an Israel Fellow at Muhlenberg College, a liberal arts institution in Pennsylvania, where he spent three years as a Shaliach, educating students about Israel, curating cultural events, and creating safe spaces for dialogue about Israel.
Motivated by a desire to make a lasting impact on Jewish communities both in Israel and abroad, Lior joined Mosaic United in 2025 as the Campus Pillar Coordinator. In this role, he continues to use his experience to influence meaningful engagement, inspire young leaders, and strengthen Jewish identity on college campuses.
Beyond his professional work, Lior is an accomplished musician, proficient in both guitar and piano. He is a NBA fan, a skilled ping-pong player, and enjoys board games, card games, and escape rooms—always seeking new challenges and opportunities for growth.
