Chief Financial Officer
Mosaic United is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team and help steward the organization through its next stage of financial growth and complexity. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled financial professional with international and nonprofit experience or someone from a top accounting firm.
The CFO will oversee all high-level financial management functions, including compliance, oversight of international and domestic financial transfers, donor reporting, working closely with Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, audits, and strategic budgeting. This is a key leadership role with broad exposure to internal and external stakeholders, including the Israeli government and global partners.

Salary Range: 23,000–26,000 NIS/month

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial strategy, planning, compliance, and risk management efforts.
- Oversee the organization’s financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit preparation.
- Ensure compliance with Israeli and international financial regulations and nonprofit standards.
- Serve as primary liaison to external auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate closely with programmatic and operations teams to support financial decision-making.
- Present financial reports and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board.
- Supervise outsourced accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping services (hands-on execution of these functions is not expected).
- Manage relationships with government stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in all financial interactions.
- Support fundraising efforts through preparation of financial documentation for donors and grantors.
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational leadership as part of the senior management team.
Qualifications:
- Israeli qualified CPA. Additional qualifications a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in financial management, with preference for those coming from top-tier accounting firms or nonprofits with international operations.
- Deep familiarity with Israeli nonprofit and government financial regulations; experience with international financial reporting and transfers is a strong advantage.
- Proven leadership ability and strategic thinking skills.
- High proficiency in financial software, Excel, and general IT systems.
- Exceptional communication skills in both Hebrew and English (native or near-native level).
- Integrity, discretion, and a strong commitment to public service and organizational mission.
