VP of Strategy: Informal Education

Mosaic United represents a joint strategic partnership between the State of Israel and global Jewry to strengthen Jewish identity and connection to Israel among the next generation of Jews around the world. Mosaic brings together established and new Jewish organizations across fields of engagement, equips them with funding and resources, and challenges them with educational standards to expand the breadth and depth of their programming.

The Opportunity

Mosaic United’s strategic foci include strengthening and up-skilling the cadre of informal education professionals globally and advancing mifgashim (cross-cultural encounters between Israeli and Diaspora peers) in a variety of immersive experiences. The Vice President of Strategy: Informal Education is a senior role that focuses primarily on field building activity such as thought leadership, research and knowledge generation, convening and network building, impact demonsration, and more. The position is ideal for an individual who combines deep informal education expertise with strategic clarity and public presence who wants to influence the field broadly.

This VP will be responsible for advancing Mosaic United’s strategy, with a particular focus on the teen and youth movement ecosystem. The role oversees two key functions: outward-facing positioning and R&D and impact oversight. Together, these functions ensure that Mosaic’s strategy is both visible and rigorous, grounded in data and responsive to real needs on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of Mosaic United’s informal education strategy, in alignment with the organization’s overall strategic plan.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CSO and a thought leader within the organization.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers to integrate field needs, insights, and realities into strategic planning and execution.
  • Ensure that Mosaic’s strategic priorities are embedded across its projects.
  • Manage and mentor two senior staff members:
  • Director of Events, responsible for outward-facing strategy positioning through convenings, conferences, and field-facing initiatives.
  • Director of Knowledge, responsible for research, evaluation, data, learning, and internal impact development.
  • Foster strong alignment between outward-facing positioning and internal knowledge generation, ensuring learning informs narrative and strategy drives action.
  • Represent Mosaic United and its strategy in public and professional forums, serving as a clear, compelling spokesperson for the organization’s educational vision.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships across the Jewish informal education ecosystem in Israel and the Diaspora.
  • Oversee learning and impact frameworks that translate research and evaluation into actionable insights for Mosaic and the broader field.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Native-level fluency in English and strong Hebrew proficiency.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in informal education.
  • At least 3 years of experience in senior or organizational leadership roles.
  • Deep familiarity with the Jewish informal education landscape, with particular expertise in teen education and youth movements.
  • Familiarity with philanthropy and grant-making environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and operate at a high conceptual level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Experience representing organizations or ideas in public or professional forums.
  • At least one academic degree required. A second degree is a strong advantage.
  • Experience designing or leading mifgashim, a significant advantage.
