After a Decade of Impact: Mosaic United Launches a New Strategy to Strengthen Jewish Identity Among the Next Generation, with a Total Investment of Nearly $40 Million
Mosaic United, in partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, unveils three new strategic growth areas for the coming years, including an investment of $12 million in social entrepreneurship and innovative initiatives designed to strengthen Jewish teens’ connection to their identity and to Israel.
After a decade of activity during which approximately $350 million was invested in strengthening Jewish identity and connection to Israel among young Jews worldwide, Mosaic United is launching a new strategy for the coming years focused on three core areas: Innovation, meaningful encounters between Israeli and Diaspora teens (”mifgashim”), and the professional development of the next generation of informal Jewish educators and leaders.
Mosaic United recently released its first decade impact report, highlighting ten years of activity and global impact. The report highlights ten years of investment and reach: approximately $350 million has been invested, together with the Government of Israel and its philanthropic partners, in programs that have reached nearly 300,000 Jewish teens and young adults across more than 50 countries through partnerships with over 200 Jewish organizations worldwide.
The new strategy was developed following extensive research conducted in Israel and Jewish communities around the world, with the goal of identifying the areas in which the organization is best poised to bring value, professional expertise, and research insights for the next generation of Jewish Youth.
Innovation is the newest addition to the strategy. The initiative will focus on identifying, developing, and implementing innovative programs that adapt Jewish education and identity-building to the changing realities of today’s teens. Particular emphasis will be placed on developing new models that strengthen Jewish identity, a sense of belonging, community, and connection to Israel, while reflecting the digital world and the evolving lifestyles of younger generations.
Another key area will focus on expanding opportunities for meaningful encounters (”mifgashim”) between Israeli and Diaspora teens through an investment of approximately $16.5 million, based on the understanding that personal relationships are the most effective ways to build lasting connections.
Building on Mosaic United’s extensive experience supporting teen travel to Israel and its growing network of more than 20 international partners, Mosaic United is expected to reach over 30,000 teen participants by the end of 2027 through immersive Jewish experiences, including both Diaspora Jewish teenagers and Israelis participating in Mifgashim programs.
In parallel, Mosaic United will also invest in the development and professional training of thousands of educators, youth leaders, and community professionals, cultivating the profession, with the goal of strengthening the quality of informal Jewish education and expanding its long-term impact in the years ahead.
